EMDR and Trauma Therapy
Online therapy for adults in CA and AZ
You work so hard to keep it all together.
On the outside, you seem like a go-getter, someone who shows up for everyone and everything, able to tackle anything that comes at you.
But just below the surface you feel like you’re drowning in racing thoughts, always on edge, and constantly stumbling on “triggers” from past experiences in your life. You’ve lost touch with who you really are and notice you’re pushing loved ones away.
You’re not sure how to get it, but you’re ready for relief.
You’re ready for change. You’re ready to reclaim your story. Most of all, you’re ready to live with a sense of freedom and confidence.
Trauma’s effects can be all-consuming
You might be experiencing:
⟶ feelings of fear, anger, guilt, numbness or helplessness
⟶ lack of enjoyment in life
⟶ feeling disconnected in previously fulfilling relationships
⟶ chronic pain, fatigue, or changes in appetite
⟶ difficulties with memory, concentration, or decision-making
EMDR and Trauma Therapy can help
Your life can change. You can break free. In therapy you will:
⟶ Learn how to calm your racing thoughts and regain control of your mind
⟶ Build a toolbox of coping skills
⟶ Process the events of your past so they stop interfering with your present
⟶ Build confidence
⟶ Reclaim your story
EMDR is different from other types of therapy
You’re in the right place
Your life can change. You are capable of breaking through, of healing, and of reclaiming your life.
EMDR is different because:
You are not required to share a detailed re-telling of every aspect of a traumatic event
It provides structure to your healing process
You will develop general coping tools that apply to your whole life, but also personalized coping skills to address specific situations
You’ll leave every session knowing how effective EMDR has been in resolving your trauma
It is the scientifically proven, gold-standard treatment for anxiety, trauma, stress
I’ll be there to support you every step of the way.
I have the honor of watching people recover from hopelessness and despair every day through the process of EMDR. My mission is to equip you with the insight, tools, and motivation you need to finally be free from the past.

Frequently asked questions

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is not talk therapy. We’ll be confronting past trauma head on, and you’ll notice progress each session.
We’ll work to build specific tools to mange stress in between sessions while also tackling stressful memories that are impacting your present. You measure your progress using objective tools after each session so you can be sure we’re on the right track.
Most clients benefit from a hybrid approach to trauma therapy where we alternate EMDR one week and then talk therapy the next. This gives you a chance to process current life issues while also healing from your past.

I do not accept insurance at this time.
By using the private-pay model, I am able to give my clients superior focus and planning without the distraction and hassle of fighting insurance carriers.
I can offer you a ‘superbill’ that can be used for possible reimbursement from your insurance carrier for a portion of the cost of out-of-network therapy. However, I always recommend checking with your insurance provider on your benefits.

Most people find meeting weekly is the best place to start. However, personal goals, time-commitment issues and finances might make biweekly sessions more manageable for some.
In terms of duration to remain in therapy, I have found that I work with most of my clients long-term (longer than six months). But it is not unusual to come into therapy with a specific issue, find that the issue is resolved in a month or two of counseling, and decide to move to “as-needed” sessions.
