How I can help
Therapy for depression helps you regain a sense of hope and motivation
Therapy for depression provides a supportive space to explore the thoughts and emotions that may be keeping you stuck. It helps you identify negative thinking patterns, understand the root causes of your struggles, and develop healthier ways to cope with stress and difficult emotions. Through approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based techniques, therapy empowers you to challenge self-defeating beliefs, build resilience, and create a more positive and balanced mindset.
Beyond just managing symptoms, therapy helps you reconnect with yourself and the things that bring you joy and fulfillment. Depression can make it hard to find motivation or feel hopeful about the future, but with the right support, you can regain a sense of purpose and control over your life. Therapy equips you with practical tools to improve your daily well-being, strengthen relationships, and build a life that feels meaningful and rewarding. You don’t have to navigate this alone—help is available, and healing is possible.

Most people find meeting weekly is the best place to start. However, personal goals, time-commitment and finances might make biweekly sessions more manageable for some.
In terms of duration to remain in therapy, I have found that I work with most of my clients for about 6 months. But it is not unusual to come into therapy with a specific issue, find that the issue is resolved in a month or two of counseling, and decide to move to “as-needed” sessions.
